Lineage of Prajapati - Verse 5-6

The sage of the spiritual lineage of Vaisampayana composed Yajurveda. Eightysix auspicious Samhitas of Yajus (r) Mantras had been composed by him. 2 He passed them over to his disciples. They grasped them in accordance with the injunctions. The sage Yajnavalkya of great penance alone was left out. But he too composed eightysix alternative Samhitas.
