Yugas and Classes of People : Lineage of Sages - Verse 64-65

When the Gunas were in (a state of) equilibrium, there was the annihilation of everything. There were no Devas anywhere. As if due to their assimilation (atideta) it {Pradhana) unintelligently functions for the sake of Cetana (the conscious one) . Thereby it was presided over by Cetana (the conscious principle) without its awareness.
