Hymn to Nilakantha - Verse 89-90

On hearing these words of Brahma, O splendidfaced lady, I concurred and said “So be it”. Then I began to drink the poison that resembled death. As I drank the terrible poison frightening even the gods, O lady of excellent complexion, my throat immediately turned black.
