The Curse ofDaksa1 - Verse 40-41

Daksa had eight daughters whom I have already mentioned to you. He invited them from their homes and welcomed them at his house. They stayed in their father’s house duly honoured. But the eldest (of them) Sati, wife of Siva, was not invited by him out of hatred for Siva.
