śūrasyeva yudhyato antamasya pratīcīnaṃ dadṛśe viśvamāyat antarmatiścarati niṣṣidhaṃ gormahaddevānāmasuratvamekam
Like a hero he fought and saw the end, he beheld the east — he encompassed all with magic; his inward thought moved restrained — the cow, greatness of gods and men alone.
All (creatures) approaching too near his confines are beheld with their faces turned away as (an enemy) flies from a combatant; obvious (to all), he penetrates the water for its destruction; great and unequalled is the might of the gods.
As to a friendly warrior when he battles, each thing that comes anear is seen to meet him. The hymn commingles with the cow's oblation. Great is the Gods' supreme and sole dominion.
